NCFADS Winter & Summer Schools: Credit Information


North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCASPPB) Credit

This credit is for substance use disorder/addictions professionals who have the license of CSAC, LCAS, CCS, and CSAPC. Sixty (60) hours of continuing education is required with 30 hours being Substance Abuse Specific (SAS). Three hours must be in ethics and 6 hours on HIV/AIDS/STDS. All training must be approved by the board. The approval number will be on your certificate.

 


Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) Credit

This credit is for rehabilitation counselors (CRCs, CCRC, CRC-MASs, etc.) who require this pre-approved credit for credentialing. The approval number will be on your certificate. No partial session credit is available.

 


Contact Hours

All participants receive contact hours upon completion of the program. Virtually all licensure boards accept contact hours including social work, nursing, counseling, marriage and family therapy, etc.

National Board Certified Counselors (NBCC) Credit

The North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies (NCFADS) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP # 5673. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. NCFADS is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. Participants must attend all track classes to receive the Track maximum hours. No partial session credit is available. NBCC is also appropriate for those seeking LPC credits.

Public School Personnel Renewal Credit (PSPR)

This credit is for anyone working in the public school system including teachers, social workers, psychologists, and counselors. Each school district grants renewal credit with their own rules and regulations. Any public school employee should receive permission from their school district prior to attending any continuing education program.
This credit is noted on your certificate and you are responsible for submitting to your credentialing body.
