Biography

Stephanie is a second-year PhD student in the Department of Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies at East Carolina University, focusing her research on the use of Expressive Arts Therapy with people who have experienced Trauma. Stephanie is also a clinician and supervisor in the Navigate Counseling Clinic at ECU, in addition to providing outpatient services at East Coast Counseling, Inc. She has worked with a wide range of populations, including children, adolescents and adults, and specializes in trauma-focused therapy, expressive arts therapy, and addictions counseling. Stephanie graduated from the ECU Department of Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies in 2012 with three Masters Degrees in: M.S. Substance Abuse & Clinical Counseling; M.S. Rehabilitation Counseling; and M.S. Vocational Evaluation. She has been working in the field as a licensed clinician since then, until returning to the Doctoral program in 2017. Her field experience has included outpatient, inpatient, Intensive In-Home, substance abuse intensive-outpatient, residential, day treatment, and prevention services/levels of care.
