Biography

Malik Ashhali received his Master’s in Social Work degree from Winthrop University in South Carolina in 2012.  He is currently a self-employed therapist working with children and their families.  He also holds a position as a clinical director over mental health services and clinical supervisor of a Substance Abuse Program. He is the owner and founder of The Village Behavioral Healthcare Services, Inc. an organization that provides mental health services, consultation services, trainings, and clinical supervisions.    He has over 13 years’ experience working with children and families struggling with mental illnesses and poverty.  He specializes in Narcotic Addiction, Substance Use Disorder, Depression, and working with clients with Dual Diagnosis.  He has presented trainings on Addiction and Poverty for the NC Foundation for Alcohol & Drug Studies; Cultural Diversity Training for the Juvenile Services Association of NC, and a training on Empathy for the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina.
