2003 Winter School

Dominion Diagnostics, Inc., was a major sponsor and exhibitor at the 2003 Winter School. Additionally, Dominion offered several scholarships for nurses.

Each year the Foundation Board plans its training Schools well in advance of the event date. Topics and faculty are selected based upon discussions with other professionals, suggestions from previous school participants, and current experiences of Board members. The Board invites proposals for training during the January 1 - August 31 period each year as it plans for the next calendar year training. Please visit our training proposals section here.

The North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies

In 1978, the N.C. Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies was chartered as a private non-profit corporation with the support and encouragement of the N.C. Department of Human Resources, the Alcoholism Professionals of North Carolina(APNC) and the Association of Drug Abuse Prevention(ADAP). The Foundation has continued its professional relationship with the organization of Addiction Professionals of North Carolina(APNC) who help sponsor its schools. Also, the Foundation has expanded the scope of its planning process to include establishing a professional relationship with various other organizations in the addictions field. This enables a rich heritage to be carried forward and insures a means of planning and managing schools of alcohol and drug studies that address the training needs of various professionals. The summer school is sponsored by the North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies and is hosted by the Division for Public Service and Extended Education at UNC Wilmington.
