| Catawba Sunrise Gallery
is a gallery of fine American craft located in the heart of Black
Mountain. Named for nearby Catawba Falls, it was established in 1996
by Rita Vermillion. Catawba Sunrise represents over 150 artisans and
craftsmen, both regional and national. Works of recently established
artists are often found here; frequently an artist will be exclusive
to this gallery in NC. |
|
| Originally serving as a
craft shop and headquarters for the Guild, this building, now known
as Guild Crafts, continues as a craft shop offering the finest
crafts from a nine-state region… pottery, handcarved wood,
jewelry, baskets, handwoven table linens, folk crafts, ironwork,
toys, glass, and quilts: enduring skills passed from hand to hand
for generations. |

Works
by Tekla and Dan are in corporate and private collections. Resumes
and biographies are available upon request. Iron is heated in a
forge, then hammered and shaped into works of sculpture or
utilitarian objects. Each piece is individually made and not mass
produced. Both artists strive for the highest quality craftsmanship
and design uniqueness. |
|
Black
Mountain is uniquely known for handmade crafts. But the individual
talents of Eula Mae has drawn
shoppers from all four corners of
the world. "Quality and love has gone into every
stitch." |

| The
Old Depot Gallery is wholly owned by The Association. Its goal is to
promote and protect mountain crafts and crafters by giving a place
to sell their works and enhance the quality of their product. All
crafters must be Association members and reside within Western North
Carolina to display their works in the Gallery. The Gallery sells
only original and juried crafts of local Western North Carolina
Artists. Crafts are sold on consignment and proceeds help support
The Old Depot Association and its work. |
